Argentina on October 1st, 2015, submitted its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution, this is being used to target specifically GHG emissions including land use, land use change and forestry by 15% below its predicted scenario by 2030 which is predicted to be 128% above 1990 levels. In this action Argentina will be will be aiming to reduce its emissions by 30% by 2030. This will help reduce the raise of the emissions and assist in climate action by having a defined policy that will ensure a lowered emission production.
The energy, agriculture and cattle-ranching sectors will account for more than 87% of the country’s total emissions by 2030 in order for Argentina to fix their Climate Change issues they need to deal with energy by investing in renewable energy such as wind power, geothermal energy and solar power. To deal with their agriculture and cattle-ranching issues they need to manage the needs of the nation. There is talk of a cattle tax which could be re-purposed and invested into dealing with other sectors of climate change.
